4 Packing Tips to Maximize Suitcase Space

July 15, 2019

I want to thank everyone for joining me on Periscope last night for a live packing video discussion. I decided I should put together some of my favorites that we discussed to help all of you maximize your space when you’re traveling. This is something that will always be changing as new inventions come out but here are my current favorites.

  1. Utilize the space between the bars of your suitcase. A lot of times people just pile their clothes into their suitcase and don’t think much about the space between the bars. If you actually calculate how much space there is, you are missing out on a lot. I like to put flat irons, socks, undergarments and flip flops in that space.
  2. Try out space saving bags that don’t need a vacuum. I am obsessed with these rolling space bags from amazon. They save so much space and help me organize as well. Here is a link to the ones that I use: https://amzn.to/2LKOOa0
  3. Stuff those shoes! I utilize closed toed shoes like sneakers as a hidden packing vessel. I will shove socks, little bags, belts, etc into the cavities of shoes to save some space.
  4. Choose the right bag for the trip. I have a beautiful travel bag from Louis Vuitton but it is not right for every trip. When I have to bring a lot of gear with me, it becomes disorganized in that bag. Sometimes you need to pick function over style. My current favorite travel bag is a backpack from eBags. This is the bag: https://bit.ly/2Lf7fnJ As some of you saw last night it is amazing! It is a suitcase/backpack combo. If you use this link you can save 25% off the bag: http://friend.ebags.com/share/Haleerockwell

I hope some of these tips were able to help you with your future packing needs. I only advocate for products that I use myself and I hope that you will love them too. What are some of your favorite packing tips?
