The Best Places to Eat on Oahu: 25 Local-Approved Eateries and Cafes

July 6, 2026

Oahu is more than beaches and sunsets — it’s one of the best food islands in the country. Between the North Shore’s food trucks, the Windward Coast’s hidden gems, and Waikiki’s endless noodle and poke shops, you could eat your way around this island for a month and still not hit everywhere. To save you the scrolling, I pulled every eatery and cafe from my Oahu map and organized them by region so you can plan your trip (and your appetite) accordingly.

I’ve been to Hawaii four times now, and this list is built from those trips — so consider it well vetted, not just pulled off a review site.

Here’s the full lineup, from Korean BBQ on the North Shore to shave ice in Waikiki. Get the google guide here.

North Shore Eats

The North Shore isn’t just for surfers. This stretch of coastline — Haleiwa to Kahuku — is packed with some of the island’s most talked-about food stops.

Skull & Crown Trading Co. — 4.8 stars (470 reviews), $30–70 A tiki bar with serious style. Great for a laid-back drink and small plates after a beach day.

Da Bald Guy — 4.8 stars (734 reviews), $20–30 A takeout spot locals swear by. Grab it to go and eat with a view of the coastline.

Kahuku Beer Garden & Bottle Shop — 4.8 stars (161 reviews), $10–20 Cold beer, easy food, and a relaxed outdoor setup — a nice pit stop on a North Shore loop.

Waikiki, Honolulu & Diamond Head

This is where the density of good food really shows up — a few blocks can take you from poke to ramen to shave ice.

Marugame Udon — 4.6 stars (1,090 reviews), $10–20 Fresh udon noodles made in-house. Simple, fast, and consistently good — you’ll actually find this reliable chain in more than one spot on the island.

YogurStory — 4.4 stars (2,075 reviews), $20–30 A brunch spot with a loyal following — good for a lazy morning before hitting Diamond Head.

K Street Food (Korean BBQ) — 4.8 stars (1,838 reviews), $20–30 A local favorite for Korean BBQ, and the rating backs it up. This is a go-to for a filling, flavor-packed meal after a morning in the water.

Furusato Sushi — 4.6 stars (1,561 reviews), $20–70 Sushi with range — casual enough for a quick roll, elevated enough for a proper sushi dinner.

Aloha Kitchen — 4.5 stars (2,410 reviews), $20–30 Breakfast done right, and popular enough that a wait is likely on weekends.

Sandy’s Cafe — 4.6 stars (102 reviews), $10–20 A smaller, local-feeling restaurant that’s easy to miss but worth seeking out.

Vavin Dessert Bar — 4.9 stars (341 reviews), $10–20 Bakery treats with one of the highest ratings on this entire list — dessert is not an afterthought here.

Poke+Bap — 4.9 stars (136 reviews), $10–20 Poke and Korean rice bowls in one spot, and the rating says it’s doing both very well.

Musubi Cafe IYASUME — 4.5 stars (1,557 reviews), $1–10 The spot for grab-and-go musubi — cheap, fast, and a true Hawaii staple.

ALOH Health Bar & Cafe — 4.5 stars (946 reviews), $10–20 A lighter, health-focused cafe option for when you need a break from fried food and shave ice.

Kai Fresh — 4.5 stars (490 reviews), $10–20 Another solid cafe pick for fresh, lighter fare.

ALO Cafe Hawaii — 4.8 stars (737 reviews), $10–20 A vegetarian cafe and deli with a nearly five-star rating — great option if you’re looking for plant-based Oahu eats.

EZOGIKU RAMEN Waikiki Japanese Noodles — 4.5 stars (488 reviews), $10–20 Solid ramen right in Waikiki, ideal for a rainy day or a late-night craving.

Ice Cream Rolls Hawaii — 4.7 stars (295 reviews) Rolled ice cream made fresh — a fun stop if you’re walking around with kids (or just want a show with your dessert).

The Happy Hawaiian Cafe — 4.8 stars (493 reviews), $10–20 A cheerful breakfast spot with a rating to match the name.

MOSA! — 4.9 stars (461 reviews) Another top-rated ice cream stop — with a score this high, it’s worth the detour.

Nana’s Green Tea — 4.7 stars (382 reviews) Japanese sweets and matcha treats in a cozy setting.

Aloha Icelabs (Dukes Lane, Waikiki) — 4.9 stars (205 reviews) Shave ice right in the heart of Waikiki, and one of the highest-rated stops on the whole list.

Poke Fix Hawaii — 4.8 stars (960 reviews), $10–20 A dedicated poke bar with a big following — a safe bet whenever you’re craving fresh fish.

Seasons Taiwanese Eatery 绣蘭竹苑 — 4.8 stars (137 reviews) Taiwanese comfort food that’s a nice change of pace from the poke-and-shave-ice circuit.

Bo’s Kitchen — 4.4 stars (204 reviews), $10–20 A dependable Chinese spot for when you want something familiar.

Joy Cup Noodles Mean — 4.6 stars (242 reviews), $10–20 Another solid Chinese noodle stop worth adding to the rotation.

A Few Honorable Mentions

Two spots on the original map — Huli Huli Chicken and Seafood and Morning Catch Poke 2 — are unfortunately permanently closed, so I left them off the main list. Always worth double-checking hours before you make the drive, since island spots come and go.

Ready to Taste It Yourself?

Reading about it is one thing — eating your way across Oahu is another. If you want help planning the trip (flights, stays, and an itinerary built around spots like these), book your trip with Travel with a Flair and let’s get it on the calendar.

Have a favorite Oahu eatery that didn’t make this list? Let me know — I’m always adding to the map.
