Nashua, New Hampshire: Who Would Have Thought?

October 13, 2015

Happy Fall Y’all!

I wasn’t able to post much last week as I was at a conference for work in Nashua, NH.  At first when our conference was slated to be here I was very confused.  I had never heard of the place and wasn’t sure what was really around.    My hotel management company had just opened a new Residence Inn by Marriott almost a year ago there.

I flew Southwest out of Rochester with a connection in Baltimore.  The airport that you need to fly into for Nashua is Manchester.  It is a smaller airport, pretty modern looking with a very active visitors bureau greeting everyone no matter who they were.  After a quick 10-15 minute drive I arrived at the hotel (Residence Inn Nashua, NH).  It was absolutely beautiful.  The suites were nicely appointed and perfect for an extended stay traveler, business traveler or the family.

I had the opportunity to eat at a couple of very nice restaurants during my stay.  My first encounter was the 110 Grille which was in the same parking lot as the hotel.  I had lunch there my first day and dinner my second night.  Both of my meals were delicious.  I forgot to take a picture of my dinner because I was starving and not thinking clearly.  It was a NY Strip Steak served over whipped potatoes with a caramelized scallion reduction sauce (AAAAMMMMMAAAAAZZZZZZIIIINNNNNGGGG)!

My third dinner of the week was at a local restaurant called MT’s.  It was an elegant little bistro type setting that was definitely set up to feel like home.  My favorite part of my dinner would probably be my salad.  It was a crab salad with a poached egg on top, served with a spicy mayonnaise.  It is hands down one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth!

My excursions included the Merrimack Outlet Malls which has a large variety of stores.  The best part to shopping in New Hampshire is that they don’t have any sales tax!  The second excursion was to the Budweiser factory.  This is also with they hitch train the Clydesdale horses as well.

Nashua is an awesome central location.  It is about 45 minutes north of Boston and a hour from the coast.  I encourage you to gives this area a try.  It will be well worth your time!
