Why a Private Snorkeling Tour is Best-Cozumel

April 25, 2019

Welcome to any newbies and hello again to those of you have been with me for a long time. I devoting this post to one of my favorite travel activities, snorkeling. If you have seen past periscopes and vlogs, I love bringing my own snorkel gear and creating my own shore snorkel itineraries. However, there are some snorkel locations that you cannot get to from the shore and this is what we are going to talk about today.

Cozumel has some absolutely wonderful snorkeling. It is one of my favorite spots to go in the Caribbean. A lot of the best snorkeling is only reachable by boat. I am personally not a fan of snorkeling excursions. I have zero desire to get on a catamaran with 80 people drinking rum punch all day and ending up chasing a turtle with my GoPro with 50 other people who have GoPros as well.

I really wanted to branch out and try some of the further out snorkeling sites my most recent visit to Cozumel. After endless researching, I decided to go with Papa Hogs. They had wonderful reviews and they are located across from my beloved Turquoise Club.

Papa Hogs is a well oiled machine. They were able to accommodate my silly blonde self who booked my excursion for the wrong day (yes, I know. I’m not perfect). They were wonderful and called in staff so that we could get a tour. The sea was not in our favor so we were not able to go to El Cielo and some of the well known snorkeling spots but they did take us a calmer part of the island.

Our guides were wonderful and took us to some great spots. We did some deep diving, saw some finish and even a turtle. They were so interactive with us and really treated us like royalty. Have a small boat to ourselves really made the trip worthwhile. I highly encourage you to check out the YouTube video and let me know what questions you have.
