Specialty Dining on cruises has been a new venture for me. I didn’t really indulge in it until almost two years ago on Oasis of the Seas. Thanks to some great experiences in the past, I decided to give it a go on my second Celebrity Cruises sailing this year. When I was on the Celebrity Solstice with my best friend/travel agent, he said I needed to try Murano. He said his past meals at Murano are some of the best meals that he had ever had. Needless to say I gave it a try and I’m happy present you with my Celebrity Cruises Murano dinner review.
What is specialty dining?
Specialty dining on cruise ships is a paid experience. Cruise fare includes basic dining options like the main dining room, the buffet and certain quick service venues. Specialty dining is an added fee option. At most dinner venues, you have a flat fee that is paid as a cover that covers your meal. The cover usually includes an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. Covers can vary by venue and are paid per person.
What is Murano?
Murano specializes in French cuisine with a contemporary twist. This venue is only open for dinner. The dress code is a smart casual. One of the cool things about this restaurant is that some of the dishes are prepared table side!
Meal Review
One of the things I love about specialty dining is how much more of an intimate experience it is. I started with the goat cheese soufflé and it was out of this world. I’ve never tasted anything like it. It was light and tangy. I would highly recommend it. For my main course, Jason and I split Chateaubriand for Two. This is a beef loin that is prepared table side. The meat is so tender that you can cut it with a butter knife. I finished out the meal in traditional French fashion with a chocolate soufflé which was very good as well.
