Happy October Everyone!
It is hard to believe that October is upon us. It represents so many things for so many people. It is the start of the fourth quarter, a sign of weather changing, pumpkin spice lattes and Ugg boots as far as the eye can see! I definitely love the weather, apple cider and going on hayrides in October!
The past four years I have been taking Olivia to the same pumpkin patch that is about 10 minutes from where we live. It is called Cobble Creek Farms and is also known as VerHulst for the Haunted Hayrides on the weekends. The admission cost is $8 per person. That $8 includes the bounce attraction, barrel ride, fall foliage hayride, the corn maze and a cider/donut combo from the concession stand. I think it is a pretty good bang for the buck. I usually give Olivia my extra rides so she gets to go twice.
This farm is designed with different setting of pumpkin people. There are pumpkin version of Barbie, Snow White, the Wizard of Oz and much more. They also have water pumps where you can race pushing plastic ducks down the spout. Olivia always loves the water spout and the barrel ride.
I personally enjoy the fall foliage hayride. They take you out to a far pumpkin patch where you have the option to pick your own pumpkin (the pumpkin is an extra cost based on weight). The ride is about 30 minutes through a beautiful country setting. I normally go later in the season when the foliage is at its peak but since I’m traveling a lot, this was the only descent day that I could take her.
I encourage everyone to travel. The word travel is a very broad word. The basic sense of the word is to move around. To travel is to experience. An experience could even be waiting for you 10 minutes down the road. These are the moments that will mean more than any tangible item that you hold dear. Make the most of your day and seize it!
Have a great week everyone!
