I had an absolutely amazing weekend. Spending much needed quality time with my daughter is exactly what I needed. This week was really great on the blog as I received a wonderful feature post from Shapermint on their social media. This was a great confidence booster and I felt so supported by them and my readers. However, you always need to take the good with the bad. A few folks felt the need to comment on these posts about my size in a rather nasty manner. Well guess what, I am fat and I forgive you.
I’m not going to lie, another F word came to mind before I decided to forgive these people. However, I had to draw myself back and focus. I am thankful to be supported by friends, family, followers and by Shapermint. This whole situation made me realize how much I need to put my own feelings aside and be a role model for others.
One word cannot begin to define someone. The old saying is that a picture is worth a thousand words. Let me tell just a few of the words that are in this photo. CONFIDENT. I have blonde hair, blue eyes, a terrific rack and felt amazing in my outfit. MATERNAL. I am the mother to a beautiful little girl who I strive everyday to show how to be her best self. DILIGENT. I am a hard working person with a fantastic job that enables me to live this beautiful life. ADVENTUROUS. I may be fat but I love free diving, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking and cliff jumping.
Why would someone decide to forgive someone who is so hurtful? There are many reasons. I simply hope that this person was having a bad day when he decided to take out some frustration on a complete stranger. I can handle it. I’m fat and have thick skin (see what I did there? LOL). By taking an insult from this person, I hope that I may have spared hurt feelings generated by his frustrations for the important women in this person’s life. I’ve decided to take this insult and make an example out of it. So really, I’d like to thank this person for giving me good writing material.
I want to encourage all of you to try something. Write down five things that describe you as a person and then ask a friend to do the same for you. We all are our own worst critics and I’m so guilty of dragging myself down at times. If you try to love yourself and surround yourself with positive people, you will not lose this battle. If someone has not told you this yet today, you are beautiful and you matter.
Thank all of you for your continued love and support! If you want to call me fat or any other names. Please go ahead. I am fat and I will forgive you.
